The services provided by Omnisafe comprise a practical and effective safety programme which enables companies and organisations to comply with legislation without incurring undue expenditure for superfluous testing.
Electrical PAT Testing
Portable Appliance Testing covers all electrical appliances u2014 from kettles to computers, power tools to table lamps. Literally anything with a plug on it.
The service is delivered under three key headings:
- → Identification & labelling — discreet labelling of all appliances.
- → Formal visual inspection — of all appliances including cable, plug and fuse, plus earth bond and insulation testing on Class 1 (earthed) appliances and insulation testing on all others.
- → Certification & reporting — a hard copy register containing all relevant information provided on completion.
Microwave Safety Testing
Safety and efficiency tests on microwave ovens, checking for both operator and consumer safety. Increasingly important as harmful bacteria present in food can cause food poisoning when cool spots prevent thorough heating.
It is worth noting that Omnisafe personnel are experienced and fully qualified in their respective fields. For electrical and microwave testing services, personnel are approved by the U.K Register of Electricians. We are also able to provide personnel who have received high level security clearance.
Each test covers:
- → Accurate measurement of radiation leakage levels
- → Power output measurement
- → Inspection of door seals and hinges
- → Testing of interlocks
- → Uniformity of heating check – identifying cool spots
A detailed written report is provided on completion of every test.

RESIDUAL CURRENT PROTECTION DEVICE TESTING
inspection for damage together with measurement of trip time and trip current. Providing a written certificate.
EMERGENCY AND ESCAPE LIGHTING TESTING
inspection for damage together with correct positioning, switching, measurement of lux reading. Providing a written certificate.
